Throne and Liberty Gear Upgrades
Upgrades can boost the stats of a piece and at times even add additional features. The value of these upgrades is determined by their tiers, requirements and the number of random augmentations that are applied.
The elite racial Shield Razortail for instance, is frequently upgraded to enhance its lightning absorption function in PvP, and/or to add additional defenses to missile-based builds in the PvM. This makes it more exchangeable over the unupgraded version.
Reroll Tokens
Reroll tokens allow you to reroll a purchased item, like an armor, weapon or ring. The item is swapped for a different one of the same type and comes with an additional set of bonuses. Reroll tokens are a cost-effective way to upgrade gear. They don't preserve the original item's level, and any resources wasted will not be refunded.
Survivors can obtain tokens to reroll in many ways, including the Mistery Box and rare drops from skulled creatures. They can be located in crates and chests, or purchased at the local store at a cost of 150k each. Reroll tokens can be used to change an attribute on a piece of equipment for example, increasing its damage or giving it a new stat.
Players can reroll equipment in three categories: physical power, spell power, and health. Upgrades to physical power can increase the damage of melee and weapons attack, while upgrades to spell power boost mage attacks and rings. Health upgrades provide the player with additional health.
There are three types of reroll tokens: upgrade, rare, and legendary. Each of these upgrades an item to a better quality and requires a higher-level reroll token in order to make it. Enhanced upgrades require a common item, while rare upgrades require a special or a legendary item, and legendary upgrades require three legendary items.
In contrast to other special tokens and markers that are placed on action spaces, the reroll marker remains in the space until the next Success result is rerolled. This is a way to prevent the waste of upgrades.
Blueprints appear as envelopes at the beginning of each Preparation Phase, and are opened by grabbing them using Interact. When they are opened, they will display a description and icon for the Appliance or Ingredient. The restaurant's store will trade blueprints for a brand new appliance or ingredient for a small amount.
In the end, blueprints can be moved between the Staple Pool (which is the default pool) and the Non-staple Pool during a run. This alters the blueprints the restaurant's shop can offer for rerolls and those that are in the Non-droppable Pool.
Growthstones
Weapons and armor, as well as accessories can be upgraded in Throne and Liberty using Growth Stones. These are special stones that can increase the level of an item by increasing its stats and attributes. They can be found by visiting Equipment Enchanting NPCs in the major towns. Contract Coin Merchants will sell them for a fee. In addition, players can get these stones by signing daily contracts.

To upgrade equipment, players must first find the item they want to upgrade and then click the "level up" button. The screen will show a summary of the item's levels and what it will be when it is upgraded. It will also show the amount of Growth Stones needed to accomplish this. The number of Growth Stones needed to upgrade a piece depends on its rarity. Most often rare (blue) weapons require more than one green Growth Stone to reach their next level, while uncommon armor requires only one blue or green Growth Stone.
After deciding on what to upgrade, players need to select the number of green Growth Stones they wish to use and pay the appropriate cost. Once the requirements are met, the player can then click the upgrade button to apply the Growth Stones to the item. The item will be upgraded in level by a specific percentage. The upgrade process can last anywhere from seconds to several minutes, based on the rarity of the item.
The upgrade process is also risk-free and doesn't affect the item's durability. This makes the system an excellent method for players to gain a significant advantage in combat without straining their bank account. By clicking on the "transfer tab" players can transfer the experience and progression of an upgraded item to an entirely new piece of equipment.
For new players, it can be difficult to acquire Growth Stones. There are a variety of ways to obtain them, including signing contracts and buying them from the Contract Coin Merchant, defeating Abyssal Contract enemies, obtaining them from the Equipment Stone Seal Book, or obtaining them from reward chests of the Ancient Arena season. In item upgrades can cut down the higher-level Growth Stones to create multiple lower-level ones.
Leveling
Leveling is an option that lets players increase the base stats of weapons armor, helms, and trinkets. The Upgrade Station lets you combine an item with upgrade materials and also pay a cost in Happy Tickets or Happy Stars. The process will consume upgrade materials and give the item an increased level, which gives the item an additional boost in that area. This process can be repeated until the maximum level for an item is attained.
Items that have upgraded base stats display the blue icon in their slot. In contrast to enchantments, upgrade components cannot be stacked with each other, but can only be added to one item at a time. Furthermore each upgrade component will require a specific amount of items to be used, as well as a minimum level for the equipment.
The Upgrade Station is divided into two slots. On the left side, players can place an item that they wish to upgrade. On the right side, previews show what the gear looks like at its next level. Pressing the yellow arrow after the player has enough materials will start the upgrading process.
A piece of equipment can be upgraded up to five times. Each time the item is upgraded, its base stats will increase by a small amount. The maximum level of an item is 19.
When an item reaches its highest level, upgrades will no longer be available for it. Also, when an item is on an upgrade track (e.g. Veteran or Explorer), upgrades to that track will come with a discount.
Upgrade components are a type of equipment that can be slotted into weapons, armor trinkets and gathering tools to give an additional bonus or effect while the equipment is equipped. They can be bought from vendors, looted or obtained through questing. They can also be traded between players. Upgrade components can be replaced by acquiring new ones. However, this will destroy the old upgrade.
Requirements
Items upgrades enable players to increase the stats of certain armors and weapons they already have. The requirements for upgrading an item vary depending on the kind of item but generally, you'll need Dilithium and a variety of Upgrade Tokens (various options are available).
Items can be upgraded by adding upgrade components to weapons and equipment. These will provide additional effects or an increase in level of the item. These upgrades can be obtained from a variety of sources, including crafting, buying at the Trading Post, karma vendors or looting from raids and bosses. Once an upgrade component has been added to an item, it cannot be removed and substituted without restriction, however the glyphs that are used in gathering tools can be swapped without limitation.
Upgrades can increase the Mark Level or Rarity. Certain upgrade components have additional modifiers that can improve the item's statistics.
The helm upgrade "Foundation of the Sun" for instance, increases the base defense and adds an additional 20 percent chance to block. Additionally, the dps upgrade "Wildfire" boosts weapon damage.
Upgrades can be beneficial for certain items, but not because they boost stats. They are more valuable to players if they can get a perfect roll. For instance, a perfectly rolled 200/6 504 armor set piece is highly sought-after in the melee PvP community and can be worth 20-50x more than the non-upp'd version.
The game will display the requirements when you select the upgrade component that is incorporated into the item. The game will show the requirements required when you select an upgrade component to slot into an item.
The game will place an item in your inventory when you've fulfilled the requirements for an upgrade. The progress bar will then change to show how close to finishing the upgrade. You can also verify the status of an upgrade by going to any item upgrader NPC.
